Active Air Shutter Inspection

  1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
  2. Perform the KOEO or KOER self-test for the PCM using the M-MDS and verify that PCM DTC P05A0:00, P059F:00, P05C0:00, P05A3:00, or U0284:00 is not output. (See KOEO/KOER SELF TEST .)
    • If PCM DTC P05A0:00, P059F:00, P05C0:00, P05A3:00, or U0284:00 is output, perform the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE .)
  3. Inspect the active air shutter for foreign material penetration, shutter distortion, sticker adhering, or excessive soiling visually or by touching with a hand.
    • If there is any malfunction, repair the malfunctioning location.
  4. Using the M-MDS simulation function (simulation item; GRL_SHT_DSD), force operate the active air shutter. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST .)
