Diagnostic Procedure

SYSTEM SCREEN NOT DISPLAYED UNMATCHED (VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection		Action
1	INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER Inspect the LCD using the M-MDS instrument cluster active command modes LCD_SEG. (See ACTIVE COMMAND MODES INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER] .) Is the LCD displayed normally?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Replace the instrument cluster. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2	VERIFY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONNECTOR CONDITION Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .) Disconnect the instrument cluster connector. Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection. Is the connector normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	Repair or replace the connector.
3	INSPECT STEERING SWITCH/CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH Inspect the steering switch/cruise control switch. (See CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH INSPECTION [MAZDA RADAR CRUISE CONTROL (MRCC) SYSTEM] .) Is the steering switch/cruise control switch normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Replace the steering switch/cruise control switch. (See CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MAZDA RADAR CRUISE CONTROL (MRCC) SYSTEM] .)
4	INSPECT VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (V/C-MODULE) Inspect the vehicle control module (V/C-module). (See VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (V/C-MODULE) INSPECTION [MAZDA RADAR CRUISE CONTROL (MRCC) SYSTEM] .) Is the vehicle control module (V/C-module) normal?	Yes	Symptom troubleshooting is completed.
4		No	Replace the vehicle control module (V/C-module). (See VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (V/C-MODULE) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MAZDA RADAR CRUISE CONTROL (MRCC) SYSTEM] .)
