Liftgate Latch Switch Inspection

- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5] .) (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.3 DISI TURBO] .) (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0] .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Liftgate upper trim (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Liftgate side trim (See LIFTGATE SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Liftgate lower trim (See LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Liftgate latch and lock actuator (See LIFTGATE LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Press the latch in using a flathead screwdriver to inspect the latch lever condition.
- Verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table.
- If not as indicated in the table, replace the liftgate latch and lock actuator
