With Fan Control Module Relay

DETECTION CONDITION & POSSIBLE CAUSE

DTC P0480:00 Fan control circuit
DETECTION CONDITION 
  • This test inspect the fan control circuit. The DTC sets if the PCM detects the voltage on the fan control variable circuit is not within the expected range
POSSIBLE CAUSE 
  • Short to ground or open circuit in fan control module relay power supply circuit
    • Short to ground in wiring harness between battery positive terminal and fan control module relay (battery side)
    • MAIN 125 A fuse or FAN 60 A fuse malfunction
    • Open circuit in wiring harness between battery positive terminal and fan control module relay (battery side)
  • Open or short circuit in wiring harness between BCM and fan control relay terminal (BCM side)
  • BCM malfunction
  • Fan control module control relay malfunction
  • Fan control module connector or terminal malfunction
  • Short to ground in wiring harness between fan control module terminal D and fan control module relay
  • Short to power supply in wiring harness between fan control module terminal D and fan control module relay
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between fan control module terminal A and body ground.
  • Poor contact or loose installation of body ground point
  • PCM connector or terminal malfunction
  • Short to ground in wiring harness between fan control module terminal C and PCM terminal 1BR
  • Short to power supply in wiring harness between fan control module terminal C and PCM terminal 1BR
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between fan control module terminal C and PCM terminal 1BR
  • Cooling fan motor No 1 malfunction
  • PCM malfunction
