DTC P2404 [L3] DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA (MODE 12) HAVE BEEN RECORDED Have FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 12) been recorded?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Record FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 12) on repair order, then go to the next step.
2	VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY Verify related Service Bulletins and/or on-line repair information availability. Is any related repair information available?	Yes	Perform repair or diagnostic according to available repair information. If vehicle is not repaired, then go to the next step.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT EVAP HOSE BENDING Inspect the EVAP hose for bending. Is the EVAP hose normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Repair or replace the hose, then go to Step 5.
4	INSPECT AIR FILTER FOR CLOGGING Inspect the air filter for clogging. Is the air filter normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
4		No	Replace the air filter, then go to the next step.
5	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P2404 COMPLETED Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors. Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS. Perform the evaporative system test using the M-MDS. (See ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION INSPECTION .) Is the same DTC present? NOTE: If evaporative system test function is not available, perform the following procedure: Perform the EVAP System Repair Verification Drive Mode. See OBD-II DRIVE MODE ) Is the PENDING CODE the same as the DTC present?	Yes	Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.
5		No	Go to the next step.
6	VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE Perform "AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE". (See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE .) Is any DTC present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE .)
6		No	Troubleshooting completed.
