Cruise Control System Pinpoint Test 5: Cruise Control Switch Is Inoperative

CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM PINPOINT TEST 5: CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH IS INOPERATIVE

PINPOINT TEST 5 THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH IS INOPERATIVE
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Disconnect: speed control servo 0120-101.
  • Measure the resistance between the speed control servo 0120-101 pin 5, circuit LB/B, harness side and the speed control servo 0120-101 pin 6, circuit DG/O, harness side while pressing the cruise control switch. See table below.
  • Are the cruise control switch resistance values OK? 
Yes Install a new cruise control servo.

No Install a new cruise control switch. See CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL / INSTALLATION . Test the system for normal operation. See SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART - CRUISE CONTROL  .
CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH RESISTANCE VALUES

Cruise Control Switch Resistance Value
COAST Between 114 and 126 ohms
SET/ACCEL Between 612 and 748 ohms
RESUME Between 2090 and 2310 ohms
OFF Less than 5 ohms
