Possible Causes

SINGLE POWER WINDOW INOPERATIVE - PASSENGER POWER WINDOW PINPOINT TEST REFERENCE

PINPOINT TEST 3 SINGLE POWER WINDOW IS INOPERATIVE - PASSENGER POWER WINDOW
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK THE OPERATION FROM THE DRIVER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
  • Key ON.
  • Operate the passenger window from the driver window control switch.
  • Does the passenger window operate from the driver window control switch? 
 Yes Go to next step.
No Go to step 4.
2 CHECK THE POWER SUPPLY TO THE PASSENGER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
  • Key OFF.
  • Disconnect: Power window switch, passenger side front 0912-202
  • Key ON.
  • Measure the voltage between power window switch, passenger side front 0912-202 pin 3, circuit (LB/B) and ground.
  • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
 Yes Install a new passenger window control switch. See WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH . Test the system for normal operation.
No Go to next step.
3 CHECK CIRCUIT (LB/B) FOR AN OPEN
  • Key OFF.
  • Disconnect: Smart junction box J-2280c.
  • Measure the resistance between SJB J-2280C pin 16, circuit (LB/B) and power window switch, passenger side front 0912-202 pin 3, circuit (LB/B).
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
 Yes Install a new SJB. See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) . Test the system for normal operation.
No Repair circuit (LB/B) for an open. Test the system for normal operation.
4 CHECK CIRCUIT (W/Y) AND (T/LB) FOR GROUND
  • Key OFF.
  • Disconnect: Power window switch, passenger side front 0912-202.
  • Measure the resistance between ground and power window switch, passenger side front:
    • 0912-202 pin 4, circuit (W/Y).
    • 0912-202 pin 2, circuit (T/LB).
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
 Yes Carry out the passenger window control switch component test. See appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article. If the switch tests OK, go to next step.
No Carry out the driver window control switch component test. See appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article. If the switch tests OK, repair circuit (W/Y) or (T/LB) for an open. Test the system for normal operation.
5 CHECK CIRCUIT (Y/R) AND (R/Y) FOR AN OPEN
  • Disconnect: Power window motor, passenger side front 0912-203.
  • Measure the resistance between power window switch, passenger side front:
    • 0912-202 pin 5, circuit (Y/R) and passenger window motor 0912-203 pin 2, circuit (Y/R).
    • 0912-202 pin 1, circuit (R/Y) and passenger window motor 0912-203 pin 1, circuit (R/Y).
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
 Yes Install a new passenger window motor. See FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR AND MOTOR . Test the system for normal operation.
No Repair circuit (Y/R) or (R/Y) for an open. Test the system for normal operation.
