Mode 3 - HO2S Heater, HO2S & TWC Repair Verification Drive Mode
- Using scan tool, check RFCFLAG PID to confirm PCM adaptive memory status. If RFCFLAG PID is ON, go to next step. If RFCFLAG PID is OFF, perform PCM adaptive memory produce drive mode first. See MODE 1 - PCM ADAPTIVE MEMORY PRODUCE DRIVE MODE .
- Start engine and warm up to normal operating temperature. Ensure all accessory loads (A/C, headlights, blower fan, rear window defroster) are off.
- Drive vehicle as shown in graph. Driving condition before constant speed driving is not specified. See Fig 1. Stop vehicle and access ON BOARD SYSTEM READINESS menu of GENERIC OBD II FUNCTIONS to check drive mode completion status. If test is completed, Readiness Function Check (RFC) flag should change from NO to YES. Go to next step. If test is not complete, turn ignition off and repeat this step.
- Access DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING TEST RESULTS menu of GENERIC OBD II FUNCTIONS to inspect monitor results. If MEAS are not within specification, repairs are not complete. Ensure no DTCs are present.

Manufacturer skips from Mode 3 to Mode 6. No Drive Modes have been omitted.
