Checking Fluid Level

Raise and support vehicle. Remove the fill plug and verify that the fluid is at the brim of the fill plug hole. See Fig 1 . On 5-speed models, discard washer from fill plug. If fluid level is low, add the specified fluid at the fill plug hole. See RECOMMENDED FLUID . Wipe the fill plug clean and apply sealant to the plug threads before installing. On 6-speed models, install new washer onto fill plug and install. Tighten fill plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
