Diagnostic Aids
This test is only intended to diagnose:
- Malfunction of ABS CM.
- Engine not reaching operating temperature.
- Ensure engine has reached operating temperature. Warm up engine if necessary. If TCS indicator light goes off after engine reaches normal operating temperature, system is operating normally. If TCS indicator light remains illuminated after engine reaches normal operating temperature, go to next step.
- If TCS indicator light remains illuminated after engine reaches normal operating temperature and DTC U2021 (87) is present, see SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - MILLENIA 2.3L or SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - MILLENIA 2.5L article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Repair as necessary. If DTC U2021 (87) is not present but TCS indicator light remains illuminated, go to next step.
- Clear DTCs from ABS CM. See CLEARING CODES under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Recheck for ABS related DTCs. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. If U2021 (87) is still present, replace ABS CM and recheck system operation. If no DTCs are present, system is operating normally. If any ABS related DTCs are present, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION table. Perform appropriate diagnostic test(s).
