DTC P1250: Pressure Regulator Control (PRC) Solenoid Valve Circuit Malfunction: Testing
NOTE:
Ensure freeze frame data has been recorded. Check for service bulletins and on-line information.
- Turn ignition off, then on. Verify stored DTCs. If no other DTCs are present, go to next step. If any other DTC is present, repair other DTC(s) first.
- Disconnect intake manifold vacuum hose from PRC solenoid valve. Using a vacuum pump, apply vacuum to valve. If vacuum does not hold for 5 seconds, go to next step. If vacuum holds for 5 seconds, go to step 4 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect PRC solenoid valve harness connector. Using a vacuum pump, apply vacuum to valve. If vacuum does not hold, replace valve. If vacuum holds, repair short to ground on Pink wire between PCM terminal No. 44 and valve. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect PRC solenoid valve harness connector. Check valve and connector terminals. If no problems are found, go to next step. If any problems are found, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 9 .
- Check resistance between PRC solenoid valve terminals. If resistance is 22-26 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 22-26 ohms, replace PRC solenoid valve and go to step 9 .
- Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between PRC solenoid valve harness connector terminal "A" (White/Red wire) and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair circuit between solenoid and main relay. After repair, go to step 9 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM connector. PCM is mounted to passenger floor, behind glove box. Check PCM and connector terminals. If no problems are found, go to next step. If any problems are found, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 9 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM harness connector. Connect breakout box to connector. Do not connect PCM. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between breakout box terminal No. 44 and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open on Pink wire. After repair, go to next step.
- Perform after repair procedure. See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE . If no DTC is present, testing is complete. If any DTC is present, go to appropriate test for diagnosis and repair.
