Using New Generation Star (NGS) Scan Tool

  1. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) Scan Tool (49-T088-001) and Adapter (49-T088-005) according to manufacturer's instructions. Using NGS scan tool, select VEHICLE & ENGINE SELECTION, and then select DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK. Select CCM - CRUISE CONTROL MODULE, and then DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE. Lastly, select CRUISE CONTROL SELF TEST.
  2. Retrieve condition detection mode Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). See CONDITION DETECTION MODE DTCS  . If more than one DTC is set, DTC with highest priority will be displayed. After initial DTC has been serviced, retrieve any additional DTCs. To cancel condition detection mode, turn ignition switch to LOCK position or turn main switch off.
NOTE: If RESUME/ACCEL switch is malfunctioning, cruise indicator light will not provide a correct indication when cruise system is inspected. Use NGS scan tool procedure.
