Diagnosis & Repair Procedure

  1. Inspect all applicable harness connectors. Repair as needed. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM and TCM harness connectors. ECM is mounted to passenger floor, behind glove box. TCM is mounted above steering column, behind instrument panel. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between terminal No. 2H on ECM harness connector and terminal No. 2N on TCM harness connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair Yellow/Green wire.
  2. Check continuity between terminal No. 2G on ECM harness connector and terminal No. 1K on TCM harness connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair Gray wire.
  3. Erase DTC. See CLEARING CODES  . If DTC is present, replace ECM. If DTC is not present, intermittent poor harness connection may have caused DTC to originally set.
