PCV Valve (B3000)

  1. Remove PCV valve from valve cover. Shake PCV valve and listen for rattle sound. Rattle sound should be present. If rattle sound is not present, replace PCV valve. If rattle sound is present, go to next step.
  2. Reinstall PCV valve and reconnect hoses. Operate engine at idle. Disconnect PCV valve hose leading to throttle body. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Plug hose opening and verify vacuum is present. If vacuum is not present, check hose for restrictions or leakage. Replace as necessary. Also check hose between PCV valve and EVAP canister for leakage. Replace as necessary.
