Idle-Up System (Auto. Trans. Without A/C & Man. Trans. With A/C)

  1. Warm engine to operating temperature, and run at idle speed. All accessories must be off. Connect tachometer to engine. Disconnect vacuum hose from idle-up system servo diaphragm, located on right side of carburetor. See Figure .
  2. Connect intake manifold vacuum directly to servo diaphragm and verify engine speed is 920-970 RPM (auto. trans.) or 1300-1500 RPM (man. trans. with A/C). If RPM is not within specification, adjust by turning screw on servo arm.
