Checking Fluid Level

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1987 Mazda 323 and 1986 Mazda 323. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Park vehicle on level ground. Apply parking brake. Bring engine to normal operating temperature. Briefly place selector lever in all gears and return to "P". Clean dipstick and insert in tube. Remove dipstick. Level should be between "L" and "F" marks. If necessary, add fluid.
