Ignition Coil Power Source

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 1989 Mazda MX-6, 1989 Mazda MPV, 1989 Mazda B2600i, 1989 Mazda B2200, and 1989 Mazda 626. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Disconnect primary wires at ignition coil. Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter, check voltage between coil positive terminal and ground of each ignition coil. Battery voltage should exist. If not, check battery feed, main relay No. 1 (MX-6 and 626 models), ignition switch and fusible links.
