Pinpoint Test G : DTCS P177B, P177D: Notes

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

The TRCM receives two voltage inputs from the BJB. The hot in start and run fuse 45 (5A) circuit powers the TRCM micro processor. The hot at all times fuse 24 (20A) circuit powers the motors in the TRCM that are used to move the selector lever cable and the transmission manual valve inside the main control valve body.

NOTE: These Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) may be caused by mechanical issues.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
P177B Transmission Range Select Motor Current Too High This DTC indicates the TRCM is experiencing excessive current draw when shifting between positions.
P177D Default Position Motor Current Too High This DTC indicates the default to park motor overheated during a default to park event.

Possible Sources
