Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor - 3.5L GTDI, 3.7L Ti-VCT: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

All vehicles 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to Jacking and Lifting .

    GTDI vehicles 

  2. Remove the LH turbocharger. Refer to Fuel Charging and Controls Turbocharger, .

    All vehicles 

  3. To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in)

  5. NOTE: Remove the bolt and the CKP sensor from the bell housing before disconnecting the electrical connector to prevent the CKP sensor from falling in the bell housing.
    NOTE: Follow the unique instructions or graphic for this step in installation.

    Disconnect the Crankshaft Position(CKP) sensor electrical connector.
