Power Transfer Unit Fluid Level Check

Materials 

Name Specification
Motorcraft ® SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant XY-75W140-QL WSL-M2C192-A

Check 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Remove the underbody shield.

  3. Remove the PTU fill plug.

  4. NOTE: The fill capacity of the PTU is 23 fl oz (700 ml).

    Fill the PTU with clean fluid, level with the fill plug opening.

    Material: Motorcraft ® SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant / XY-75W140-QL (WSL-M2C192-A)

  5. Install the PTU fill plug.

    Torque: 33 lb.ft (45 Nm)

  6. Install the underbody shield.
