Side Obstacle Detection Control Module: Removal

NOTE: LH side shown, RH side similar.

NOTE: This step is only necessary if the SODL or SODR is being replaced.

1. Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the SODL or SODR following the on-screen instructions.
2. Remove the rear wheel and tire. REFER to: Wheel and Tire .
3. Remove the rear quarter panel moulding. REFER to: Rear Quarter Panel Moulding .
4. Remove the 3 nuts, the 3 pin-type retainers and the rear inner fender liner.

5. Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.

6. Remove the bolt.

7. Disconnect 2 electrical connectors.

8. Remove 3 push pins and 4 bolts.

9. Position the required side of the rear bumper cover outward and rearward.

10. 1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    2. Remove the screw and the SODL.

11. NOTE: The following steps are only necessary if a new component is being installed.
    1. Remove 2 bolts.
    2. Disconnect the wiring harness retainer.
    3. Remove the screw and the SODL bracket.
