Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Function: Notes
The vehicle is equipped with 2 IA PATS keys (Rotunda numbers are 164-R7030 for the mechanical key blade and 164-R7028 for the IA key, less the mechanical key blade). The IA key incorporates both the PATS functions and the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter functions in a single device. The IA key must be located inside the vehicle for vehicle starting. The RFA module accepts programming of up to 4 IA keys. Refer to KEY PROGRAMMING USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT - INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) or KEY PROGRAMMING USING TWO PROGRAMMED KEYS - INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) for key programming information. If an attempt to program more than 4 IA keys is made, the additional IA key(s) cannot function in any way.
The PATS anti-theft indicator flashes every 2 seconds when the ignition is OFF to act as a visual theft deterrent. The indicator is not illuminated at any other time.
