Pinpoint Test O: The Stability Assist Cannot Be Disabled

CAUTION: Use the flex probe kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.
  1. O1 CHECK THE TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Traction Control Switch C280.
    • Turn the traction control switch to the OFF position.
    • Measure the resistance between the traction control switch C280-5, circuit 1003 (GY/YE), component side and C280-1, circuit 959 (GY) component side.

    • Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
    1. Yes  : GO to O2.
    2. No  : INSTALL a new traction control switch. REFER to TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. O2 CHECK CIRCUIT 959 (GY) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: ABS Module C155.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between the ABS module C155-38, circuit 959 (GY), harness side and ground.

    • Is any voltage present?
    1. Yes  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. No  : GO to O3.
  3. O3 CHECK CIRCUIT 960 (BK/LB) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Measure the resistance between the ABS module C155-13, circuit 960 (BK/LB), harness side and ground.

    • Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
    1. Yes  : GO to O4.
    2. No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. O4 CHECK FOR CORRECT ABS MODULE OPERATION
    • Disconnect all the ABS connectors.
    • Check for:
      • Corrosion
      • Pushed-out pins
    • Connect all the ABS connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present?
    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE . TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
