Pinpoint Test J: The Speed Control Switch Is Inoperative - Coast

Test Step
J1 CHECK THE SPEED CONTROL ACTUATOR SWITCH COAST PID
- Key in ON position.
- Monitor the speed control actuator COAST PID. Press and release the speed control actuator switch COAST button while slightly turning the steering wheel from side to side.
- Does the diagnostic tool indicate ACTIVE with the speed control actuator switch pressed and not ACTIVE with the speed control actuator switch released?
Result / Action to Take
Yes
System is OK.
No
GO to J2.
Test Step
J2 CHECK THE SPEED CONTROL ACTUATOR SWITCH COAST
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Speed Control Actuator C122.
- Measure the resistance between speed control actuator C122 pin 5, circuit 151 (LB/BK), harness side, and speed control actuator C122 pin 6, circuit 848 (DG/OG), harness side, while pressing the speed control actuator switch COAST and slightly turning the steering wheel from side to side.
- Is the resistance between 108 and 132 ohms with COAST pressed and greater than 10,000 ohms with COAST released?
Result / Action to Take
Yes
INSTALL a new speed control actuator. REFER to SPEED CONTROL SERVO . TEST the system for normal operation.
No
INSTALL a new speed control actuator switch. REFER to SPEED CONTROL SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.
