Parking Aid Sensor: Notes

Remove the front or rear bumper cover. For additional information, refer to BODY SYSTEM - EXTERIOR .

NOTE: Rear parking aid sensor shown, front parking aid sensor similar.

Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

For Monterey, paint the sensor(s) with one coat of paint (basecoat and clear coat).
Using the diagnostic tool, verify that the parking aid sensor PIDs read no object present, and that the parking aid sensor attenuation PIDs read between 0.8-1.6 ms. If the parking aid sensor attenuation PIDs do not read between 0.8-1.6 ms, the paint is too thick on the sensor (s) and it will be necessary to repaint the sensor(s) as required.
