Symptom Chart: Notes

SYMPTOM CHART

Condition Possible Sources Action
No communication with the front electronic module
  • Circuitry.
  • Front electronic module (FEM).
 REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
No communication with the instrument cluster module
  • Circuitry.
  • Instrument cluster.
 REFER to INFORMATION, GAUGES AND WARNING DEVICES .
Both headlamps are inoperative
  • Headlamp switch.
  • Front electronic module (FEM).
  • Instrument cluster.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST A .
The low beams are inoperative
  • Front electronic module (FEM).
 INSTALL a new FEM. REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK . TEST the system for normal operation.
The high beams are inoperative
  • Circuitry.
  • Multifunction switch.
  • Front electronic module (FEM).
  • Instrument cluster.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST B .
One low beam headlamp is inoperative
  • Circuitry.
  • High intensity discharge (HID) relay (if equipped).
  • Ballast (if equipped).
  • Front electronic module (FEM).
 Go To PINPOINT TEST C .
One high beam headlamp is inoperative
  • Circuitry.
  • Front electronic module (FEM).
 Go To PINPOINT TEST D .
The headlamps are on continuously
  • Circuitry.
  • Headlamp switch.
  • Multifunction switch.
  • Front electronic module (FEM).
  • Instrument cluster.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST E .
The flash-to-pass feature is inoperative
  • Multifunction switch.
 INSTALL a new multifunction switch. REFER to STEERING SYSTEM . TEST the system for normal operation.
The power supply relay is inoperative - all switched system power (SSP) features
  • Circuitry.
  • Battery junction box (BJB).
  • Front electronic module (FEM).
  • Rear electronic module (REM).
  • Relay
 Go To PINPOINT TEST F .
The power supply relay is inoperative - switched system power (SSP) 1
  • Circuitry.
  • Relay.
  • Battery junction box (BJB).
 Go To PINPOINT TEST G .
The power supply relay is inoperative - switched system power (SSP) 2
