Removal & Installation

CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.
NOTE: Prior to removal of module, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to appropriate diagnostic equipment. This information needs to be downloaded into module once installed. See appropriate MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.

Remove left scuff plate. Release retaining clips and remove left "A" pillar lower trim panel. Remove lower instrument panel finish panel. Remove courtesy light from instrument panel finish panel. Position driver-side carpet aside. Remove nuts, and position interior auxiliary junction box (AJB) aside. Remove nuts and bolts, and position FEM aside. Disconnect 6 electrical connectors from FEM. Remove FEM. To install, reverse removal procedure. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
