Test B: No Communication With Rear Electronics Module (Rem)

NOTE: Cycle ignition switch from LOCK to RUN position to enable Switched System Power (SSP) feature.
  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect REM 20-pin harness connector C420D. Disconnect REM 26-pin harness connector C420C. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and REM harness connector C420D terminal No. 3 (Orange/Black wire). See Fig 1 . If more than 10 volts exists, go to next step. If 10 volts or less exists, repair open in Orange/Black wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect REM 22-pin harness connector C420B. Measure resistance between ground and REM harness connector terminals as specified. See REM TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION  table. See Fig 2 and Fig 3 . If resistances are less than 5 ohms, see MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - LS article to diagnose network fault. If any resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open or high resistance in appropriate wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
