Test F: DTC C1155 - Left Front Sensor Input Circuit Failure
- Check Left Front Sensor
Disconnect left front sensor connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between left front sensor terminals. If resistance is 1800-3000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace left front sensor. See WHEEL SENSORS under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Clear DTCs and repeat self-test.
- Check ABS Shorted Sensor
Measure resistance between left front sensor terminal No. 1 and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, replace left front sensor. See WHEEL SENSORS under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Clear DTCs and repeat self-test.
- Check Sensor Wiring
Reconnect left front sensor connector. Disconnect 25-pin ABS control module connector. Install EEC-IV Breakout Box. Measure voltage between breakout box terminals No. 4 (Tan/Orange wire) and No.11 (Tan/Black wire). If resistance is 1800-3000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, repair open or short to ground in Tan/Orange wire or Tan/Black wire between left front sensor and ABS control module. Clear DTCs and repeat self-test.
- Check Circuits No. 521 (Tan/Orange Wire) & 522 (Tan/Black Wire) For Short To Ground
Measure resistance between breakout box terminals No. 4 (Tan/Orange wire) and No.8 (Light Green/Yellow wire). If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to step 6. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, go to next step.
- Check For Circuit No. 521 (Tan/Orange Wire) For Short To Ground
Disconnect left front sensor connector. Measure resistance between breakout box terminals No. 4 (Tan/Orange wire) and No.8 (Light Green/Yellow wire). If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, repair Tan/Black wire between left front sensor and ABS control module. Clear DTCs and repeat self-test. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair Tan/Orange wire between left front sensor and ABS control module. Clear DTCs and repeat self-test.
- Check For DTC
Reconnect all previously disconnected connectors. Using NGS tester, clear DTCs. Turn ignition off, and then on. Using NGS tester, retrieve ABS DTCs. If DTC C1155 is set, replace ABS control module. Clear DTCs and repeat self-test. If DTC C1155 is not set, check connections for an intermittent problem such as corrosion, damage, pushed-out, or loose connections. Repair as necessary. Clear DTCs and repeat self-test.
