Test C: Memory Seat Does Not Operate With Transmitter (Navigator)

  1. Turn ignition off. Press any button on remote transmitter. Connect NGS tester following manufacturers instructions. Select TRANSMITTER TIC/DATA from RAP FUNCTION test list. Compare LAST TIC RECEIVED with data stored in TIC1, TIC2, TIC3 and TIC4 to determine which transmitter is being used. Repeat procedure with second transmitter. If transmitters one and two are identified, go to next step. If transmitters one and two cannot be identified, go to TEST A: DOORS DO NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH REMOTE TRANSMITTER  .
  2. Press UNLOCK button on transmitter No. 1. If memory seat moves to position No. 1, go to next step. If seat does not move to position No. 1, go to step  7 .
  3. Press UNLOCK button on transmitter No. 2. If memory seat moves to position No. 2, system is operating properly. If seat does not move to position No. 2, go to next step.
  4. Ensure memory one transmitter if off. Using NGS tester, select SEAT MEMORY SEAT CONTROL from RAP active command list and turn MEMORY 2 to ON. If memory seat moves to position No. 2, replace RAP module. Retest system. If seat does not move to position No. 2, go to next step.
  5. Turn MEMORY 2 ON to MEMORY 2 OFF. Disconnect 22-pin driver seat module (DSM) connector C356. Disconnect RAP module 22-pin C257 connector. Measure resistance of Black/Orange wire between RAP module 22-pin connector terminal No. 18 and DSM module 22-pin connector terminal No. 15. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, reconnect RAP module connector. Go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Orange wire. Retest system.
  6. Turn MEMORY 2 OFF to MEMORY 2 ON. Measure voltage between ground and DSM module 22-pin connector terminal No. 15 (Black/Orange wire). If more than 10 volts exists, replace DSM. Retest system. If 10 volts or less exists, replace RAP module. Retest system.
  7. Ensure MEMORY 1 is OFF. Using NGS tester, select SEAT MEMORY SEAT CONTROL from RAP active command list and turn MEMORY 1 to ON. If memory seat moves to No. 1 position, replace RAP module. Retest system. If memory seat does not move to position No. 1, go to next step.
  8. Turn MEMORY 1 ON to MEMORY 1 OFF. Disconnect 22-pin driver seat module (DSM) connector C356. Disconnect RAP module 22-pin C257 connector. Measure resistance of Brown/Light Green wire between RAP module 22-pin connector terminal No. 6 and DSM module 22-pin connector terminal No. 16. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, reconnect RAP module connector. Go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair open in Brown/Light Green wire. Retest system.
  9. Turn MEMORY 1 OFF to MEMORY 1 ON. Measure voltage between ground and DSM module 22-pin connector terminal No. 16 (Brown/Light Green wire). If more than 10 volts exists, replace DSM. Retest system. If 10 volts or less exists, replace RAP module. Retest system.
