Test B: Remote Anti-Theft Personality (Rap) Module Does Not Respond To NGS Tester
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect RAP module Black 26-pin connector located behind left side of instrument panel. See Fig 1. Disconnect NGS tester. Inspect RAP module connector and Data Link Connector (DLC) for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. Repair as necessary and retest system for normal operation. If connectors are okay, go to next step.
- Measure resistance of Light Blue/White wire between terminal No. 3 at RAP module connector and terminal No. 7 at DLC. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to step 4).
- Reconnect RAP module connector and NGS tester. Perform data link diagnostic procedure. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS. If RAP module responds to NGS tester, system is functioning properly. If RAP module does not respond to NGS tester, replace RAP module and retest system for normal operation.
- Disconnect and inspect both halves of in-line 16-pin Gray connector C247 located behind left side of instrument panel. See Fig 2. Inspect connector for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. Repair as necessary and retest system for normal operation. If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Measure resistance of Light Blue/White wire between terminal No. 3 at RAP module Black 26-pin connector and terminal No. 16 at in-line 16-pin Gray connector C247 (male half). See Fig 1 and Fig 2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair open in Light Blue/White wire between female half of in-line connector and DLC. Retest system for normal operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Light Blue/White wire between RAP module connector and male half of in-line connector. Retest system for normal operation.
