Pinpoint Test K - Anti-Lock Light Normal, Traction Assist Inoperative
NOTE:
Traction Assist (TA) on-off switch indicator glows when TA is off. If TA is used excessively, ABS control module will turn TA off to prevent overheating of rear brakes. Indicator in TA switch will glow when this occurs.
- Verify condition exists. If TA is inoperative on both rear wheels, go to next step. If TA is inoperative on only one rear wheel, go to step 3).
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS control module 55-pin connector. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Connect Breakout Box (014-00322) and ABS Adapter (T90P-50-ALA). Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between breakout box test pins No. 32 and 60. DO NOT depress brake pedal during this test. If battery voltage is not present, go to next step. If battery voltage is present, replace brakelight switch or repair circuit No. 511 (Light Green wire).
- Make an anti-lock stop on a slippery surface. Observe brake pedal action when pump comes on. If brake pedal rises, replace valve body. See HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If brake pedal does not rise, replace pump and motor.
