Pinpoint Test C - Alarm Does Not Trigger/Reset Properly

  1. Arm system with a front window down. Reach through window and open door using inside handle. If alarm triggers, system is okay. Unlock door with key to stop alarm. Test is complete. If alarm does not trigger, go to next step.
  2. Arm system with a front window down. Reach through window and open door using inside handle. If alarm triggers, go to next step. If alarm does not trigger, go to step 9).
  3. Arm system with a front window down. Reach through window and open door using inside handle. If alarm goes off continuously, replace anti-theft control module and retest system. If alarm does not turn on continuously, go to next step.
  4. With alarm triggered, check that horn sounds. If horn sounds, go to next step. If horn does not sound, go to step 9).
  5. With alarm triggered, check that taillights and parking lights flash. If all lights flash, go to next step. If all lights do not flash, go to step 13).
  6. With alarm triggered, check that low beam headlights flash. If lights flash, go to next step. If lights do not flash, repair White/Purple wire and/or autolamp relay and retest system.
  7. With alarm triggered, check that vehicle does not start. If vehicle does not start, system is okay. Stop test and disarm system by unlocking door with key. If vehicle starts, go to next step.
  8. Disconnect anti-theft control module from wiring harness. Measure voltage at pin No. 11 of anti-theft control module. See Figure . If voltage is less than one volt, replace starter interrupt relay and/or repair circuit No. 342 (Light Green/pink wire). If voltage is more than one volt, replace anti-theft control module and retest.
  9. Arm system. Open trunk lid. Short contacts of lock switch and check that system is triggered. If system triggers, system is okay. Stop test and disarm system by unlocking door with key. If system did not trigger, go to next step.
  10. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage at pin No. 5 of anti-theft control module. If voltage is less than 2 volts, replace anti-theft control module and retest system. If voltage is more than 2 volts, check for open White/Purple wire. If White/Purple wire is okay, replace trunk lid lock cylinder and retest system.
  11. Activate horn from steering wheel. If horn sounds, go to next step. If horn does not sound repair horn circuit, horn or horn relay.
  12. Using voltmeter, check voltage at anti-theft control module pin No. 18. If voltage is less than 2 volts, repair open in Yellow/Light Green wire. Retest system. If voltage is more than 2 volts, replace anti-theft control module and retest system.
  13. Using a voltmeter, backprobe pin No. 21 of anti-theft control module and measure voltage. If voltage is more than one volt, replace anti-theft control module and retest system. If voltage is less than one volt, repair White/Purple wire between anti-theft control module and parking light relay, or autolamp system.
