Short To Ground Check

  1. Disconnect PRC control module connector and Variable Assist Power Steering (VAPS) control module connector (if equipped) below driver's seat. Set VOM on 200-k/ohm scale. Measure resistance between Green/Red wire and chassis ground.
  2. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Green/Red wire between PRC control module and instrument panel. If resistance reading is 10 k/ohms or more, proceed to PINPOINT TEST A4 (on analog instrument panel only.)
