Removal [10/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [10/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [10/2023 - ]

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR COVER PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2023 - ]

  3. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [10/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [10/2023 - ]

  4. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [10/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [10/2023 - ]

  5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - ] 

  6. REMOVE CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY LH (for Intake Side of Bank 2) 
    1. Disconnect the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly LH connector.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and cam timing oil control solenoid assembly LH from the timing chain or belt cover sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      If the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly LH has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly LH.
      NOTE:
      • When removing the O-ring, be careful not to damage the O-ring groove of the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly LH.
      • If the O-ring groove of the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly LH is damaged, replace the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly LH with a new one.

      HINT: 

      Perform this procedure only when replacement of the O-ring is necessary.

  7. REMOVE CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY LH (for Exhaust Side of Bank 2) 
    1. Disconnect the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly LH connector.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and cam timing oil control solenoid assembly LH from the timing chain or belt cover sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      If the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly LH has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly LH.
      NOTE:
      • When removing the O-ring, be careful not to damage the O-ring groove of the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly LH.
      • If the O-ring groove of the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly LH is damaged, replace the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly LH with a new one.
