Removal [01/2017 - ]: Procedure
- REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [01/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [06/2019 - 05/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [05/2023 - ]
- REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL RH
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side of Bank 2)
- Detach the clamp to disconnect the engine wire.
- Remove the bolt.
- Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly connector.
- Remove the 2 bolts and camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly from the timing chain cover assembly.NOTE:
If the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.
- Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly.NOTE:
- If the O-ring comes off in the timing chain cover assembly, make sure to remove it.
- Do not drop the O-ring into the timing chain cover assembly.
- Detach the clamp to disconnect the engine wire.
- REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (for Intake Side of Bank 2)
- Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly connector.
- Remove the 2 bolts and camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly from the timing chain cover assembly.NOTE:
If the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.
- Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly.NOTE:
- If the O-ring comes off in the timing chain cover assembly, make sure to remove it.
- Do not drop the O-ring into the timing chain cover assembly.
- Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly connector.
