Installation [10/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL FORWARD RECOGNITION HOOD 
    1. Attach the guide and claw as shown in the illustration to install the forward recognition hood.

      Install in this Direction
      NOTE:
      • If the inner surface of the windshield glass in the area in front of the forward recognition camera is dirty, remove the forward recognition hood, clean the glass, and then reinstall the forward recognition hood and forward recognition camera.
      • Do not touch the area shown in the illustration, because it may bend when subjected to a load.

  2. INSTALL FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA 
    NOTE:
    • When replacing the forward recognition camera, replace it with a new one.
    • If the forward recognition camera has been struck or dropped, replace it with a new one.
    • If the forward recognition camera is not properly installed, forward recognition camera optical axis learning cannot be performed properly. Make sure the forward recognition camera is installed securely.
    • Do not touch the lens when replacing the forward recognition camera.
    • Replace the forward recognition camera if there is any foreign matter on the camera lens.
    • If the forward recognition camera bracket is deformed or damaged, replace it together with the windshield glass.
    • When replacing the windshield glass of a vehicle equipped with a forward recognition camera, make sure to use a Lexus genuine part. If a non-Lexus genuine part is used, the forward recognition camera may not be able to be installed due to a missing bracket. Also, the front camera system, adaptive high beam system, traffic jam assist system or automatic high beam system may not operate properly due to a difference in the transmissivity or black ceramic border.
    • If the inner surface of the windshield glass in the area in front of the forward recognition camera is dirty, remove the forward recognition hood, clean the glass, and then reinstall the forward recognition hood and forward recognition camera.

    1. Attach the guide as shown in the illustration.

    2. Attach the guide, claw and install the forward recognition camera as shown in the illustration.
    3. Connect the connector.
  3. INSTALL NO. 2 FORWARD RECOGNITION COVER 
    1. Attach the guide and clip as shown in the illustration to install the No. 2 forward recognition cover.

      Install in this Direction
      NOTE:

      When installing, press the cover parallel to the windshield glass surface and install.

      HINT: 

      Check the locking sound of the clip when attaching it.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 FORWARD RECOGNITION COVER

      Attach the guide the direction indicated by the arrow (1) shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:

      Insert the guide all the way.

    2. Rotate the guide around the shaft and attach the claw in the installation direction (2) shown in the illustration to install the No. 1 forward recognition cover.
      NOTE:

      If the claw are attached separately they may become damaged. Therefore, attach them at the same time.

  5. INSTALL FRONT ROOF TOP GARNISH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  6. UPDATE ECU SECURITY KEY 

    Refer to UPDATE ECU SECURITY KEY [10/2023 - ]

  7. SOFTWARE VERSION CONFIRMATION 

    Refer to SOFTWARE VERSION CONFIRMATION [10/2023 - ]

  8. ADJUST FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA 
    NOTE:
    • When replacing only the forward recognition camera, Camera Axis Adjustment Value Write can be performed.
    • If the forward recognition camera and millimeter wave radar sensor assembly are replaced at the same time, the Camera Axis Adjustment Value Write cannot be used.
    • If the Camera Axis Adjustment Value Write are available, the adjustment procedure can be omitted.
    1. If the forward recognition camera is replaced with a new one, perform forward recognition camera adjustment.

      HINT: 

      Forward recognition camera learning can be performed by using either Target Adjustment (One Time Recognition), Camera Axis Adjustment Value Write or Driving Adjustment.

    2. If the windshield glass has been replaced or removed and installed, perform forward recognition camera adjustment.

      HINT: 

      Forward recognition camera learning can be performed by using either Target Adjustment (One Time Recognition) or Driving Adjustment.
