Drive Start Control [10/2023 - ]: Procedure
- PAST ACTIVATION CONFIRMATION
- Check if the customer operated the vehicle in a way that would cause the drive start control to operate.
HINT:
The operating conditions for drive start control include sudden start restraint control and reverse speed control.
- Sudden start restraint control
Activation conditions
- Pattern A (When all of the following conditions are met, control starts.)
- The accelerator pedal is open by approximately 1/5 or more.
- The shift lever is moved from P to any forward position D (Including other forward shift positions) or R.
- Pattern B (When all of the following conditions are met, control starts.)
- The accelerator pedal is open by approximately 1/5 or more.
- The shift lever is moved from R to any forward position D (Including other forward shift positions), any forward position D (Including other forward shift positions) to R, or N to R.
HINT:
Operation may not be possible in certain situations.
- Items Controlled
- Hybrid system output is restricted.
- Deactivation Conditions
- The accelerator pedal is released.
- The shift state is in park (P) or neutral (N).
- Pattern A (When all of the following conditions are met, control starts.)
- Reverse speed control
Activation conditions
- When reverse speed control is turned ON. (When all of the following conditions are met, control starts.)
- Items Controlled
- Hybrid system output is restricted.
- Deactivation Conditions
- The accelerator pedal is released.
- The shift lever is moved to any shift state other than reverse (R).
HINT:
- The restraint level for hybrid system output differs between the sudden start restraint controls (Pattern A and Pattern B) and the reverse speed control (reverse speed control ON).
- During reverse speed control and sudden start restraint control, hybrid system output is adjusted based on the road gradient.
- Sudden start restraint control is not active when TRC is turned off.
Control will also not operate under the following conditions. (if equippe
- When TRAIL mode is on
- When multi-terrain select is selected
- The reverse speed control can be temporarily set to OFF via vehicle settings.
