Removal [09/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 2 FORWARD RECOGNITION COVER 
    1. Disengage the claws and guides to remove the No. 2 forward recognition cover as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2)
      NOTE:

      If these claws are disengaged separately, they may break. Insert a molding remover between them and pull it down to disengage the claws simultaneously.

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 FORWARD RECOGNITION COVER 
    1. Disengage the clips and guides to remove the No. 1 forward recognition cover as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction
      NOTE:

      To avoid damaging the guides, always slide the No. 1 forward recognition cover parallel to the windshield glass.

  3. REMOVE FORWARD RECOGNITION LATCH 
    1. w/o Camera Heater:

      Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2)
      1. Disengage the claws in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) in the illustration.
      2. Disengage the guides in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) in the illustration to remove the forward recognition latch.
    2. w/ Camera Heater:

      Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2)
      1. Disengage the claws in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) in the illustration.
      2. Disengage the guides in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) in the illustration to remove the forward recognition latch.
  4. REMOVE FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA (CAMERA SENSOR) 
    1. w/o Camera Heater:

      Remove in this Direction
      1. Disconnect the connector.
      2. Disengage the guides and remove the forward recognition camera (camera sensor) as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:
        • Do not pull the harness forcibly when disconnecting the connector.
        • If the forward recognition camera bracket is deformed or damaged, replace it together with the windshield glass.
        • If the forward recognition camera (camera sensor) has been struck or dropped, replace it with a new one.
        • Do not apply excessive force.
    2. w/ Camera Heater:

      Remove in this Direction
      1. Disconnect the connector.
      2. Disengage the guides and remove the forward recognition camera (camera sensor) as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:
        • Do not pull the harness forcibly when disconnecting the connector.
        • If the forward recognition camera bracket is deformed or damaged, replace it together with the windshield glass.
        • If the forward recognition camera (camera sensor) has been struck or dropped, replace it with a new one.
        • Do not apply excessive force.
  5. REMOVE FORWARD RECOGNITION WITH HEATER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    During work, do not touch the shaded area on the forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly shown in the illustration.

    1. Disconnect the connector.

      NOTE:

      Do not pull the harness forcibly when disconnecting the connector.

    2. Detach the connector clamp.

    3. Detach the guide and remove the wire harness.

    4. Detach the claw in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2)
      Heater Area
      NOTE:

      Do not press the heater area.

    5. Detach the guide in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) in the illustration to remove the forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly.
