Inspection [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR 
    1. Partially immerse the engine coolant temperature sensor in water and warm up the water.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Approx. 20°C (68°F) 2.32 to 2.59 kΩ
      Approx. 80°C (176°F) 0.310 to 0.326 kΩ
      NOTE:

      When checking the engine coolant temperature sensor in water, keep the terminals dry. After the check, wipe the sensor dry.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the engine coolant temperature sensor.
