Traction Control Switch Circuit [08/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output (See article. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2014 - 08/2015] Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2015 - ] ).

      Result

    INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

    (See article. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2014 - ] )

  2. CHECK IF SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED 
    1. Check if the skid control ECU connector is securely connected.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    Result:  NG

    CONNECT CONNECTOR TO ECU CORRECTLY 

    Result:  OK

    OK

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TRAC/VSC OFF MODE) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Select the Data List on the Techstream (See article. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2014 - ] ).

  4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (TR(A)C OFF INDICATOR LIGHT) 
    1. Select the Active Test on the Techstream (See article. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2014 - ] ).

  5. INSPECT COMBINATION SWITCH 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Inspect the combination switch (traction control switch) (See article. Refer to INSPECTION [08/2014 - ] ).

      OK

      Combination switch (traction control switch) is normal.

    Result:  NG

    REPLACE COMBINATION SWITCH 

    (See article. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2014 - ] )

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the combination switch (traction control switch) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A61-8 (CSW) - H72-7 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A61-8 (CSW) or H72-7 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H72-14 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      HINT: 

      If troubleshooting has been carried out according to Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step (See article. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2014 - ] ).

    Result:  OK

    OK 

    REPLACE BRAKE BOOSTER WITH MASTER CYLINDER 

    (See article. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2014 - ] )

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  7. INSPECT COMBINATION METER 
    1. Perform the Active Test of the combination meter (meter CPU) using the Techstream (See article. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2014 - ] ).
    2. Check the combination meter.

      OK

      The TR(A)C OFF indicator light turns on or off in accordance with Techstream operation.

      HINT: 

      If troubleshooting has been carried out according to Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the parts (See article. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2014 - ] ).

    Result:  OK

    REPLACE BRAKE BOOSTER WITH MASTER CYLINDER 

    (See article. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2014 - ] )

    Result:  NG

    INSPECT METER / GAUGE SYSTEM
