TC and CG Terminal Circuit: Procedure

  1. INSPECT DLC3 
    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      STANDARD VOLTAGE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G37-13 (TC) - G37-4 (CG) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    NG → See step   4 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION LINE See step   3 

    NG → See step   9 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK DTC (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Check for DTCs. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [06/2012 - ] .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      CAN system DTC is not output A
      CAN system DTC is output B

    B → See step   10 

    A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - DLC3) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Disconnect the G45 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      STANDARD RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G45-28 (TC) - G37-13 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      STANDARD RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G37-4 (CG) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK ECM (DLC3 INPUT)

    1. Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.
      • SST: 09843-18040 
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of DLC3
    2. Check that the MIL is blinking.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      MIL is blinking A
      MIL is not blinking B

    B → REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR ECM 

    A: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK DTC (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Check for DTCs. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [06/2012 - ] .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      CAN system DTC is not output A
      CAN system DTC is output B

    B → See step   10 

    A → See step   8 

  8. REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [06/2012 - ] 
  9. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING). Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [06/2012 - ] 
  10. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING). Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [06/2012 - ]
