Fold Seat Switch Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOLD SEAT CONTROL ECU (FOLD SEAT SWITCH SIGNAL) 
    1. Check the No. 1 fold seat switch signal.
      1. Remove the fold seat control ECU with its connectors still connected. Refer to REMOVAL [06/2012 - ] .

      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
        STANDARD VOLTAGE FOR LH SIDE

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        d1-10 (FLD2) - Body ground No. 1 fold seat switch LH off 11 to 14 V
        No. 1 fold seat switch LH fold Below 1 V
        d1-14 (RTN2) - Body ground No. 1 fold seat switch LH off 11 to 14 V
        No. 1 fold seat switch LH return Below 1 V
        STANDARD VOLTAGE FOR RH SIDE

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        c1-10 (FLD2) - Body ground No. 1 fold seat switch RH off 11 to 14 V
        No. 1 fold seat switch RH fold Below 1 V
        c1-14 (RTN2) - Body ground No. 1 fold seat switch RH off 11 to 14 V
        No. 1 fold seat switch RH return Below 1 V
    2. Check No. 2 fold seat switch signal.
      1. Remove the fold seat control ECU with its connectors still connected. Refer to REMOVAL [06/2012 - ] .

      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
        STANDARD VOLTAGE FOR LH SIDE

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        d1-15 (RTRN) - Body ground No. 2 fold seat switch LH off 11 to 14 V
        No. 2 fold seat switch LH return Below 1 V
        d1-16 (FOLD) - Body ground No. 2 fold seat switch LH off 11 to 14 V
        No. 2 fold seat switch LH fold Below 1 V
        STANDARD VOLTAGE FOR RH SIDE

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        c1-15 (RTRN) - Body ground No. 2 fold seat switch RH off 11 to 14 V
        No. 2 fold seat switch RH return Below 1 V
        c1-16 (FOLD) - Body ground No. 2 fold seat switch RH off 11 to 14 V
        No. 2 fold seat switch RH fold Below 1 V

  2. INSPECT NO. 1 FOLD SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the No. 1 fold seat switch. Refer to REMOVAL [06/2012 - ] .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      STANDARD RESISTANCE FOR LH SIDE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      6 (FLDL) - 7 (E) No. 1 fold seat switch LH fold Below 1 Ω
      No. 1 fold seat switch LH off 10 kΩ or higher
      1 (RTNL) - 7 (E) No. 1 fold seat switch LH return Below 1 Ω
      No. 1 fold seat switch LH off 10 kΩ or higher
      STANDARD RESISTANCE FOR RH SIDE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      8 (FLDR) - 7 (E) No. 1 fold seat switch RH fold Below 1 Ω
      No. 1 fold seat switch RH off 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (RTNR) - 7 (E) No. 1 fold seat switch RH return Below 1 Ω
      No. 1 fold seat switch RH off 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   7 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FOLD SEAT CONTROL ECU - NO. 1 FOLD SEAT SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the d1*1 or c1*2 ECU connector.
      • *1: for LH Side
      • *2: for RH Side
    2. Disconnect the Q11 switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      STANDARD RESISTANCE FOR LH SIDE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      d1-10 (FLD2) - Q11-6 (FLDL) Always Below 1 Ω
      d1-10 (FLD2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      d1-14 (RTN2) - Q11-1 (RTNL) Always Below 1 Ω
      d1-14 (RTN2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      STANDARD RESISTANCE FOR RH SIDE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      c1-10 (FLD2) - Q11-8 (FLDR) Always Below 1 Ω
      c1-10 (FLD2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      c1-14 (RTN2) - Q11-3 (RTNR) Always Below 1 Ω
      c1-14 (RTN2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   9 

  4. INSPECT NO. 2 FOLD SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the No. 2 fold seat switch. Refer to REMOVAL [06/2012 - ] .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      STANDARD RESISTANCE FOR LH SIDE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      8 (FOLD) - 7 (E) No. 2 fold seat switch LH fold Below 1 Ω
      No. 2 fold seat switch LH off 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (RTRN) - 7 (E) No. 2 fold seat switch LH return Below 1 Ω
      No. 2 fold seat switch LH off 10 kΩ or higher
      STANDARD RESISTANCE FOR RH SIDE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      6 (FOLD) - 7 (E) No. 2 fold seat switch RH fold Below 1 Ω
      No. 2 fold seat switch RH off 10 kΩ or higher
      1 (RTRN) - 7 (E) No. 2 fold seat switch RH return Below 1 Ω
      No. 2 fold seat switch RH off 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FOLD SEAT CONTROL ECU - NO. 2 FOLD SEAT SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the d1*1 or c1*2 ECU connector.
      • *1: for LH Side
      • *2: for RH Side
    2. Disconnect the R15 switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      STANDARD RESISTANCE FOR LH SIDE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      d1-15 (RTRN) - R15-3 (RTRN) Always Below 1 Ω
      d1-15 (RTRN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      d1-16 (FOLD) - R15-8 (FOLD) Always Below 1 Ω
      d1-16 (FOLD) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      STANDARD RESISTANCE FOR RH SIDE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      c1-15 (RTRN) - R15-1 (RTRN) Always Below 1 Ω
      c1-15 (RTRN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      c1-16 (FOLD) - R15-6 (FOLD) Always Below 1 Ω
      c1-16 (FOLD) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   9 

  6. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [06/2012 - ]  
  7. REPLACE NO. 1 FOLD SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2012 - ] 
  8. REPLACE NO. 2 FOLD SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2012 - ] 
  9. REPLACE FOLD SEAT CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2012 - ]
