DTC C1425: Open in Stop Light Switch Circuit: Procedure
- CHECK STOP LIGHT OPERATION
- Check that the stop lights come on when the brake pedal is depressed, and go off when the brake pedal is released.
OK
Condition Illumination Condition Brake pedal depressed. On Brake pedal released. Off

OK: Go to next step
- Check that the stop lights come on when the brake pedal is depressed, and go off when the brake pedal is released.
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Select the Data List using the Techstream. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [06/2012 - ]

- RECONFIRM DTC
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2012 - ] .
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Start the engine.
- Depress the brake pedal several times to test the stop light circuit.
- Check if the same DTC is output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2012 - ]

Result Proceed to DTC C1425 is not output. A DTC C1425 is output. B HINT:

- Inspect the stop light switch assembly. Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [06/2012 - ]

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STPS TERMINAL)
- Disconnect the 1F No. 1 integration relay (engine room junction block assembly) connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Disconnect the 1F No. 1 integration relay (engine room junction block assembly) connector.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STP TERMINAL)
- Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connector.
- Disconnect the A40 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (STP CIRCUIT)
OK: Go to next step
- Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connector.
- RECONFIRM DTC
- Reconnect the 1F No. 1 integration relay (engine room junction block assembly) connector.
- Reconnect the A40 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
- Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2012 - ] .
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Start the engine.
- Depress the brake pedal several times to test the stop light circuit.
- Check if the same DTC is output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2012 - ]

Result Proceed to DTC C1425 is not output. A DTC C1425 is output. B HINT:
- If the lighting system is normal but the DTC is still output, replace the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly). Refer to REMOVAL [06/2012 - ] .
