TC and CG Terminal Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [06/2012 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output. A
      DTCs are output. B

    B → See step   8 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT DLC3 
    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H29-13 (TC) - H29-4 (CG) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    NG → See step   4 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. REPLACE ECM 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Replace the ECM. Refer to REMOVAL [06/2012 - ] .
    3. Using SST, connect terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.
      • SST: 09843-18040 
    4. Check that the ABS warning and slip indicator lights are blinking.

      OK

      The ABS warning and slip indicator lights are blinking.

      HINT: 

      If troubleshooting has been carried out according to Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing parts. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [06/2012 - ] .

    NG → See step   7 

    OK → END 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TC of DLC3 - ECM) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Disconnect the A22 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H29-13 (TC) - A22-45 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω
      H29-13 (TC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CG of DLC3 - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H29-4 (CG) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. REPLACE ECM 
    1. Replace the ECM. Refer to REMOVAL [06/2012 - ] .

    2. Using SST, connect terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.
      • SST: 09843-18040 
    3. Check that the ABS warning and slip indicator lights are blinking.

      OK

      The ABS warning and slip indicator lights are blinking.

  7. REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2012 - ] 
  8. INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [06/2012 - ]
