On-Vehicle Inspection
- INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE
- Warm up the engine.
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Remove the V bank cover. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 15 .
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active test / Active the VSV for Intake Control.
- Start the engine.
- Perform the Active Test and check that the actuator rod operates.

TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*a ON (Seal) *b OFF (Vent) If the result is not as specified, inspect the ECM, intake manifold and VSV (for ACIS) for normal operation. Replace malfunctioning parts as necessary.
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Disconnect the Techstream from the DLC3.
- Install the V bank cover. Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 80 .
- INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE
- CHECK AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM
HINT:
The illustration shows the areas that may draw in secondary air, which could lead to idling problems.
- Check that the hoses are installed correctly.
