Camshaft Oil Control Valve: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Intake Side of Bank 2) 
    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring and install it to the oil control valve.

    2. Install the oil control valve with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Be careful that the O-ring is not cracked or jumped when installing the oil control valve.

    3. Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.
    4. Install the bracket with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (104 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    5. Connect the wiring harness to the bracket.
  2. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Exhaust Side of Bank 2) 
    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring and install it to the oil control valve.

    2. Install the oil control valve with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Be careful that the O-ring is not cracked or jumped when installing the oil control valve.

    3. Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.
  3. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Intake Side of Bank 1) 
    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring and install it to the oil control valve.

    2. Install the oil control valve with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Be careful that the O-ring is not cracked or jumped when installing the oil control valve.

    3. Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.
    4. Install the V-bank cover bracket with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

  4. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Bank 1 Exhaust Side) 
    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring and install it to the oil control valve.

    2. Install the oil control valve with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Be careful that the O-ring is not cracked or jumped when installing the oil control valve.

    3. Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.
  5. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK  . Refer toINSTALLATION - Step 3
  6. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY  See step  1
  7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE  See step  2
  8. CONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE  See step  3
  9. ADD ENGINE COOLANT  . Refer toREPLACEMENT - Step 6
  10. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS  . Refer toON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 1
  11. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer toINSTALLATION - Step 3
  12. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH  . Refer toINSTALLATION - Step 6
  13. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH  . Refer toREMOVAL - Step 7
  14. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH  . Refer toINSTALLATION - Step 4
  15. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH  . Refer toINSTALLATION - Step 5
  16. INSTALL FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH  . Refer toINSTALLATION - Step 9
  17. INSTALL FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH  . Refer toINSTALLATION - Step 10
  18. INSTALL V-BANK COVER  See step  31
  19. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  See step  32
  20. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  See step  33
  21. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  See step  34
  22. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  23. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization. Refer toINITIALIZATION .
      NOTE:

      Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
