Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the R19 display connector
    2. Using an oscilloscope, check the signal waveform between each terminal and the body ground according to the conditions, as shown in the chart below Measurement condition
      ITEM CONTENT

      Item Content
      Terminal No (Symbols) NTSC (R19-9) - Body ground
      Tool Setting 0 2V/DIV, 10 μsec/DIV
      Condition DVD is played on radio receiver

      OK: Waveform is as shown in the illustration.

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK: REPLACE TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER - TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the R30 controller connector.
    2. Disconnect the R19 display connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R30-5 (NTS3) - R19-9 (NTSC) Always Below 1 Ω
      R30-4 (SGN3) - R19-10 (SGN1)
      R30-19 (SLDC) - R19-8 (SLD)
      R30-5 (NTS3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R30-4 (SGN3) - Body ground
      R30-19 (SLDC) - Body ground

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER  (See REMOVAL  )
