Inspection Procedure

1. Use the intelligent tester or Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

Result 

B: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

A: Go to next Step 

1. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the mirror retract switch

1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester or Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the mirror retract function

1. Remove the mirror LH (see REMOVAL )
2. For each mirror position- Disconnect the battery, set the mirror position by hand, connect the battery, and check the retractable mirror's movement
   NOTE:

   • Disconnect and reconnect the battery once between each mirror position check.
   • Do not apply battery voltage when moving the mirror by hand into each mirror position.

   OK

NG: REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )

OK: REPLACE FRONT DOOR ECU LH  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )

1. Remove the mirror RH (see REMOVAL ).
2. For each mirror position Disconnect the battery, set the mirror position by hand, connect the battery, and check the retractable mirror's movement
   NOTE:

   • Disconnect and reconnect the battery once between each mirror position check.
   • Do not apply battery voltage when moving the mirror by hand into each mirror position.
