Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      STANDARD VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R32-19 (MUT4) - Body ground Turn engine switch on (ACC), audio system is playing → Changing modes Above 3.5 V → Below 1 V

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK SATELLITE RADIO TUNER AND/OR DISC PLAYER 
    1. Check if the satellite radio tuner and/or disc player are equipped on the vehicle.

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed to
      w/o Satellite Radio Tuner, w/o Disc Player A
      w/ Satellite Radio Tuner, w/o Disc Player B
      w/o Satellite Radio Tuner, w/ Disc Player C
      w/ Satellite Radio Tuner, w/ Disc Player D

      B:  Go to step  4

      C:  Go to step  7

      D:  Go to step  10

      A: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER) 
    1. Disconnect the L52 receiver connector.
    2. Disconnect the R32 controller connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L52-19 (RMUT) - R32-19 (MUT4) Always Below 1 Ω
      R32-19 (MUT4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed to
      NG A
      OK B

      B:  Go to step  15

      A: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - SATELLITE RADIO TUNER) 
    1. Disconnect the L52 receiver connector.
    2. Disconnect the R29 tuner connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L52-19 (RMUT) - R29-14 (MUT3) Always Below 1 Ω
      L52-19 (RMUT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SATELLITE RADIO TUNER - MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER) 
    1. Disconnect the R29 tuner connector.
    2. Disconnect the R32 controller connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R29-13 (MUT4) - R32-19 (MUT4) Always Below 1 Ω
      R32-19 (MUT4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  6. REPLACE SATELLITE RADIO TUNER WITH NORMAL ONE AND CHECK 
    1. Replace the satellite radio tuner with a normal one and check if the same problem occurs again (see REMOVAL  ).

      OK: 

      Same problem does not occur. 

      NG:  Go to step  15

      OK: END (SATELLITE RADIO TUNER IS DEFECTIVE) 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - DISC PLAYER) 
    1. Disconnect the L52 receiver connector.
    2. Disconnect the R16 player connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L52-19 (RMUT) - R16-8 (MUT2) Always Below 1 Ω
      L52-19 (RMUT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISC PLAYER - MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER) 
    1. Disconnect the R16 player connector.
    2. Disconnect the R32 controller connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R16-14 (MUTE) - R32-19 (MUT4) Always Below 1 Ω
      R32-19 (MUT4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  9. REPLACE DISC PLAYER WITH NORMAL ONE AND CHECK 
    1. Replace the disc player with a normal one and check if the same problem occurs again (see REMOVAL  ).

      OK: 

      Same problem does not occur. 

      NG:  Go to step  15

      OK: END (DISC PLAYER IS DEFECTIVE) 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - SATELLITE RADIO TUNER) 
    1. Disconnect the L52 receiver connector.
    2. Disconnect the R29 tuner connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L52-19 (RMUT) - R29-14 (MUT3) Always Below 1 Ω
      L52-19 (RMUT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SATELLITE RADIO TUNER - DISC PLAYER) 
    1. Disconnect the R29 tuner connector.
    2. Disconnect the R16 player connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R29-13 (MUT4) - R16-8 (MUT2) Always Below 1 Ω
      R29-13 (MUT4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISC PLAYER - MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER) 
    1. Disconnect the R16 player connector.
    2. Disconnect the R32 controller connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R16-14 (MUTE) - R32-19 (MUT4) Always Below 1 Ω
      R32-19 (MUT4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  13. REPLACE SATELLITE RADIO TUNER WITH NORMAL ONE AND CHECK 
    1. Replace the satellite radio tuner with a normal one and check if the same problem occurs again (see REMOVAL  ).

      OK: 

      Same problem does not occur. 

      NG: Go to step 14 

      OK: END (SATELLITE RADIO TUNER IS DEFECTIVE) 

  14. REPLACE DISC PLAYER WITH NORMAL ONE AND CHECK 
    1. Replace the disc player with a normal one and check if the same problem occurs again (see REMOVAL  ).

      OK: 

      Same problem does not occur. 

      NG: Go to step 15 

      OK: END (DISC PLAYER IS DEFECTIVE) 

  15. CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER 
    1. Reconnect the R32 controller connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      STANDARD VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      R32-19 (MUT4) - Body ground Audio system is playing Above 3.5 V

      NG: REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER (See  REMOVAL   ) 

      OK: REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER (See  REMOVAL   )
